The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado did touch down Tuesday night in the Madison County Town of Smithfield.

Officials say the tornado will be classified at least as an EF-2

They say the storm produced winds of over 100 miles an hour.

Madison County Sheriff Allen Riley says four people were killed when the storm ripped through Goff Road in Smithfield.

He says the victims are 35-year old Kimberly Hillard and her 4-month old daughter, Paris Newman, 70-year old Virgina Warner and 53-year old Arnie Allen


He says the family of New York stands with those who were lost in Madison County.
