CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (AP) — A man charged with killing a woman and her 7-year-old son inside their suburban Buffalo apartment has waived his right to a felony hearing and a grand jury will hear the case.

Shane Stevenson waived the hearing in Cheektowaga (cheek-tuh-WAH'-guh) Town Court on Wednesday.

Police say the bodies of 30-year-old Raina Voll and her son, Leo Klinger, were found inside an apartment complex last week after Voll's 2-year-old child was found in a stroller a short distance away.

Stevenson isn't the father of either child.

Police say the killings occurred during a "domestic situation." No word on a possible motive. An investigation is ongoing.

Stevenson pleaded not guilty to murder charges last week. He remains jailed without bail.

It wasn't immediately known if he has an attorney.
