GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — A crash that caused a chemical spill has caused a traffic headache in suburban New York.

The Journal News reports (http://lohud.us/29jlANp ) Greenburgh police said all southbound lanes of the Sprain Brook Parkway were shut down following a wreck at about 9 p.m. Wednesday. State police say the road was re-opened by 1:20 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities say the multi-vehicle crash caused minor injuries to two people who were taken to a hospital. Officials say a vehicle involved in the crash was carrying hydrochloric acid and traffic was diverted while the cleanup took place.

Authorities say there's no threat to residents due to the spill.
