Alexandre Grenier pushed home a loose puck in front of the net for the game winner in overtime as the Utica Comets grabbed their first win of these playoffs, 2-1 over the Albany Devils, and in doing so kept their season alive for at least one more game.

Entering the game in an 0-2 series hole, the Comets electrified the Utica AUD with the first goal of the night after killing off the first penalty of the game. Jordan Subban lit the lamp with an assist from Jon Landry 12:36 into the opening period. But it didn't take long for the Devils to respond as Mike Sislo tied things at 1-1, taking advantage of a 4 on 3 power play at 17:11 of the first.

The following two periods were scoreless, but chippy, as scrums seemed to follow every whistle. Grenier, who led the team in points during the regular season, put back a loose puck in the crease in extra time meaning Utica will host Game 4 of the opening round playoff series on Thursday night (7:00).

A win for Albany would send the Devils to the next round.

Tuesday night's matchup at The Aud was Utica's first home game of the playoffs and their 54th consecutive home sellout, which dates back the Comets' playoff run last season.
