Senator Joseph Griffo has secured $75,000 in state funding to repair the Town of Paris Municipal Pool.

The pool was first built in 1974, but Griffo says it's at serious risk of being closed unless it can be resurfaced.

Griffo says the pool is used on a daily basis during the summer months and it would have been a shame to let it close in disrepair.

He also says 16 part-time summer jobs would no longer be available for youth to gain work experience.

“This is a place where families and friends from all over gather to stay cool and have fun, where children have been learning to swim for years and seniors are able to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle. Restoring this pool so it can continue to be used for years to come would have been a major financial undertaking for this community, so I am glad to be able to relieve that burden by securing this funding” said Griffo.
