The NFL handed down a one-game suspension to New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski on Monday, one day after he delivered a dirty hit on Buffalo's Tre'Davious White.

White, who intercepted a pass intended for 'Gronk', was laying face down on the turf when Gronkowski threw himself onto the defender, driving his head into the ground. The rookie cornerback was shaken up on the play and is under the league's concussion protocol because of the cheap shot

Gronkowski apologized for blatant cheap shot after Sunday's 23-2 Patriots' win, but will reportedly appeal the ruling.

*Previously this report indicated White had not suffered a concussion on the play.
