A groundbreaking ceremony will be held tomorrow on a new development happening on a once contaminated brownfield in West Utica.

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri will be joined by James Ranalli, Chief Executive Officer of Syracuse-based United Auto Supply, at the former Bossert Manufacturing site.

The nearly seven-acre property at the corner of Oswego Street and the North-South Arterial was placed on the state’s Superfund List in 1986.

It was taken off that list in 2008, after more than $10 million was spent cleaning up the property.
