Guarascio Wins 1,000 Islands Bass Fishing Event

Whitesboro, NY (WIBX) - It was a great weekend to go fishing, but for one Whitesboro man, it was perfect.

On Saturday, Frank Guarascio won the Walmart Bass Fishing League Northeast Division event at Thousand Islands.

Guarascio's five bass totaled 23 pounds, five ounces and was more than a pound ahead of his nearest competitor.

He says he fished near isolated boulders and in flats, relying on the weather to produce the winning catches.

Guarascio's victory earned him $2,985.
