Lafayette, NY (WIBX) - State police arrested two Syracuse area men yesterday, charging them each with several felonies, after they allegedly used a forged prescription to get their hands on some powerful pain killers. Officials say the Halbritter brothers, 28-year-old Forest, and 30-year-old Aaron of Blossvale, presented the prescription for Oxycodone and Percocet to the pharmacist at Wegman's Grocery Store in the Town of DeWitt last month.

However, a joint investigation by State Police and The New York State Department of Health Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, uncovered that the Halbritter brothers stole the prescription and forged it to get the pills.

The men are each charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a class "B" Felony
  • Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree, a class "D" Felony
  • Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree, a class "E" Felony
