More Halloween costumes than ever will be bought this year as Americans prepare for the spookiest holiday of the year.

The National Retail Federation predicts that more than two-thirds of Halloween participants will buy costumes this year, the most in the survey's 11 year history.

The survey says the average person will spend $77.52 this Halloween, compared to $75.03 last year, with total spending expected to reach upwards of $7 billion.

Halloween City in the Riverside Shopping Center will be open through the holiday and Store Manager Renee Underwood says the more popular costumes are flying off the shelves.

Meanwhile, some of the top costumes this year are coming from viral moments on the internet.

Topping that list is the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, followed by Justin Beiber's mugshot, Shia LeBeouf's paper bag "I am not famous" stunt and Jered Leto.
