Washington, DC (WIBX) - Congressman Richard Hanna has issued a statement on the fiscal cliff compromise bill passed by the House last night.

Hanna says he's pleased the issue has been resolved in a bipartisan manner.

He says the deal was not perfect and there are parts of it that he doesn't agree with, but the responsibility of governing requires compromise for the benefit of constituents and the country and this votes embodies that notion.

Hanna also says it's a big win for Upstate taxpayers, families, businesses and farms, as well as the principles of fiscal responsibility.
