Washington, DC (WIBX) - The National Association of Development Organization named Congressman Richard Hanna, "2012 House of Representatives Legislator of the Year." NADO reps say Hanna was chosen for the award based on his leadership and support of federal policies and programs that support regional and local economic initiatives.

The group's National Leadership Award is presented yearly to a member of congress. The award comes on the heel of more good news for Hanna, who just received the backing from the state's Independence Party in his re-election bid for the newly drawn 22nd District. The new district includes all of Oneida, Madison, Cortland and Chenango counties, as well as part of Oswego, Herkimer, Broome and Tioga counties.
