Congressman Richard Hanna will host a retired U.S Army Sgt. from New Hartford as President Obama delivers his sixth State of the Union Address tonight.

30-year old Sgt Ernest Weeks served in the Army from 2008 to 2012.

Hanna presented Weeks with the Purple Heart Medal in 2014.

Weeks was injured in Afghanistan in 2011 when his vehicle was struck by an IED.

Each member of Congress is allowed to bring one guest to the State of the Union Address.

Hanna says it's an honor and privilege to be joined by Sgt. Weeks.
