An Ilion woman is facing several charges for allegedly stealing cash from the Hannaford location in Herkimer where she was employed.

On March 3rd, 2017 Herkimer Police were contacted by management at Hannaford on E. Albany Street. Police were advised that it was suspected an employee was stealing from the store over a period of time.

Officers worked with members of Hannaford’s management, who had conducted an internal investigation, to verify the time period as well as the total loss suffered. Following the investigation it was discovered that 57-year-old Susan Guyer had stolen in excess of $3,000 from November 2016 to the present.

Guyer was arrested at the store and transported to the Herkimer Police Department. She has been charged with Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree and Scheme to Defraud in the Second Degree. She has been remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2500 cash or $5000 bond.  She will appear in Village Court at a later date.
