Washington, DC (WIBX) - Rep. Richard Hanna's NY Flag Bill won unanimous support in Congress. Congress and the President agreed unanimously--a rare occasion--on a bill penned by Republican Congressman Richard Hanna of Barneveld.  The bill is titled, Civilian Service Recognition Act of 2011.

The measure allows the American flag to be given to families of all federal workers killed due to a criminal act, terrorist attack, natural disaster or extraordinary event. Hanna says nearly 3,000 federal workers have lost their lives while on the job since 1992. The bill was signed yesterday by President Obama.
