The Matt Harvey Mets fans have been waiting for made an appearance at Citi Field on Memorial Day.

Snapping a personal three game losing streak, Harvey (4-7, 5.37 ERA) allowed just two hits and walk while striking out six White Sox over seven shutout innings. It was by far his best outing of the year and was well timed as the Mets could only muster one run themselves. Neil Walker's homer in the seventh proved to be all New York needed to take the series opener 1-0.

Addison Reed pitched a perfect eighth inning and Jeurys Familia struck out two batters in the ninth to record his 17th save.

Steven Matz (7-1, 2.36 ERA) looks for a win in his eighth consecutive start on Tuesday night. He's be opposed by Chicago's Mat Latos (6-1, 4.06 ERA).
