A Hastings man is facing charges after pointing a shotgun at a State Trooper.

State Police, along with the Oswego County Sheriff's Office, were called to a home on County Route 32 yesterday afternoon at around 4, for reports of a suicidal man.

When they arrived, a shot was fired by Daniel Taylor, 47, who could be seen carrying the gun through the windows of the home.

An hour later, Taylor allegedly pointed the shotgun from a second story window at a Trooper and conservation officer. The Trooper shot one round at Taylor, striking him in the right hand. He then surrendered and was taken to University Hospital.

Taylor is charged with Menacing a Police Officer and Reckless Endangerment.
