If you have ever lived in more than one state, and even if you have lived in the same place your whole life, you might want to check out the unclaimed funds registry. In most cases retrieving the money is as easy as proving residency and identity.

President Obama Has Unclaimed Cash from Massachusettts
Many states have lists of unclaimed funds available to residents, even temporary ones. And, that, according to the Boston Herald, includes President Barack Obama, who has two checks which total about $300 combined. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts's State Treasurer, Steven Grossman, says the President has two cable television refund checks from Comcast.
