Herkimer, NY (WIBX):  The Herkimer County Community College Women's Swimming and Diving team recently competed in the NJCAA National Championship in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Freshman, Sylvia Ross, from Holland Patent, finished 4th in both the 1 and 3 meter board.

She also set a new school record in the 1 meter event, breaking her personal best score.

Senior, Emily Washburn, from Forestport, also set a new school record in the 100 yard butterfly.

She also finished the 400 yard freestyle relay in under one minute.

Coach Vicki Brown said she is extremely proud of the entire team on all of their accomplishments this season.

The diving team finished in 11th place overall, which is the highest HCCC has ever placed in a National competition.
