Hennessy Letter On Census Maps
Sherrill, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County Legislator Michael Hennessy has written the County Executive regarding recently discovered census maps.
Hennessy says he hopes a letter is sent on behalf of the county to federal officials requesting a more accurate portrait of the land.
The issue involves census maps that outlined the Oneida Reservation as nealry 307,000 acres. Previously, the maps showed the reservation was just 32-acres.
In his letter, Hennessy says it’s nice to see that he and County Executive Anthony Picente agree that the courtroom is the proper venue to resolve the remaining issues.
