Herkimer County Office For The Aging Gets New Vehicle

Herkimer, NY (WIBX) - The Herkimer County Office for the Aging has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties.

The money will be used toward the purchase of a vehicle to be used to provide transportation services for senior citizens.

The new vehicle is wheelchair accessible and will replace a 2001 van that has over 171,000 miles on it.

Last year, the Office for the Aging provided 5,532 rides to 177 seniors.
