The Herkimer County Public Health Department is hosting a rabies clinic at the Norway Community Center.

On Wednesday afternoon, from 3:30 until 5, people may bring their dogs, cats and ferrets in to receive their rabies vaccines.

A five dollar donation is encouraged to defer the cost of the vaccines. In addition, dos should be leashed, and cats and ferrets should be either inside a carrier or in a pillowcase.

Cats and dogs require two shots one year apart, then may receive another every 3 years. Ferrets must be vaccinated each year.
