Herkimer County To Share in $28 Million In Public Infrastructure Repair Funds

Governor Cuomo is announcing that a request made to President Obama for a federal major disaster declaration has been approved following severe storms and flooding in May.
Eleven Counties including Herkimer County will share in the grant money that will cover public infrastructure damage.

As a result of these storms, a preliminary damage assessment done by FEMA validated expenditures of more than $28 million in response and recovery efforts.

The funding is available on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of property damaged by the storms.
