Herkimer Police Warn of National Grid Phone Scam

Luke Tubia, WIBX

Herkimer Police are reporting a phone scam happening around Central New York.

The caller claims to be National Grid and threatens to disconnect your utilities if a balance is not paid.

The phone number they provide will answer as National Grid and attempt to get personal information.

Police say National Grid is aware of the scam and they recommend that you call the number on your actual National Grid Bill if you have to make contact with them.
