Herkimer Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud
A month-long investigation by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit has led to the arrest of a Herkimer woman.
Amanda Pohleven is accused of receiving nearly $1.300 in public assistance benefits earmarked for child care.
Pohleven is charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing. She was ordered to report to the Herkimer County Probation Department for electronic monitoring after being released on her own recognizance.
