Long known as the 'Getaway Region' of New York, Oneida County and the Mohawk Valley always have something interesting to offer, this week ghost hunting comes to a historic jail.

WIBX 950 in conjunction with Oneida County Tourism host This Week In The Mohawk Valley Toy and the CNY Travel Show to highlight community events and opportunities that are coming to the Mohawk Valley throughout the week.

This week, P.W. Creighton, author and founder of NY Shadow Chasers joins Kelly Blazosky of Oneida County Tourism and Jim to talk about the upcoming Herkimer's Haunted Crossroads Investigation coming October 22nd at 6PM.

The 7thannual Haunted History investigation, Herkimer’s Haunted Crossroads Investigation will have explorers investigating the legendary 1834 jail house where murderer Chester Gillette was held and Roxalana Druse was hanged. The Eckler Building, Doctor Suiter’s 1860 medical practice, and the historic 1860 courthouse where Chester Gillette was found guilty of murder. Investigate these haunted sites with Psychic Carmen Reed of “A Haunting In Connecticut”, and Gettysburg Ghost Gals from “The Dead Files, My Haunted house, and The Haunted”, television shows” and the NY Shadow Chasers from PBS.

The Mohawk Valley has many upcoming community events and activities for the coming week including Riggies, Greens and Rock at the Stanley Theatre, a musical at the Rome Community Theater, the Dust Devil Band at Unity Hall, the second annual Hallo-wine festival, a dinner theater by the Steuben Players at Steuben Town Hall, Halloween House in Rome and more.
