Holiday Shopping Season Earns A B-minus In New York
New York's retailers are giving a grade of "B-minus" for the 2013 holiday shopping season.
That's according to a survey by the Retail Council of New York State.
The council says merchants saw an increase in sales of 3 to 4% over a similar time period last year.
Retailers surveyed said the bulk of shopping took place in the five or six days running up to Christmas, while post-Christmas sales were very strong.
