Honey Boo Boo Might Be Stupid; But, Their Marketing is Brilliant
While I can’t say this train wreck of a television show called “Honey Boo Boo” (Wednesdays, TLC Cable Network) is my idea of entertainment, I think I can confidently say these guys know how to market.
Today, I received a marketing package from the producers promoting their upcoming ‘scratch and sniff’ season debut. The concept is that we give away a scratch and sniff card and while watching the show, viewers use the corresponding numbers on the screen to scratch and sniff, as directed.
The scratch and sniff concept is building on the fact that this redneck family becomes entertained every time one of the family members flatulates.
