NILES, N.Y. (AP) — The search is on for a horse that has gone missing from a central New York farm.

Roger and Suzanne Head say they first noticed their American paint mare named Guernsey was missing Tuesday morning when they went out to feed her at their farm in the Cayuga County town of Niles.

They say there are no holes in the fence and no hair left behind on the gate. They called state troopers, who the couple says walked the pasture and found nothing.

The couple says the pasture where the horses are kept is close to the road and it would have been easy for someone to pull up with a trailer and lure Guernsey out. But they say there's no evidence of tire tracks or footprints to prove that.
