The 2015 Nissan Sentra offers more leg room, a better combined MPG and all at a lower price than its competition.

Surprised?

I've been driving the 2015 Sentra for nearly two months now. If you had asked me two months ago how the Sentra compares to other compact models I likely wouldn't have ranked it very high. But, honestly, I'd never driven one before.

Space: Aside from the obvious - easy ride and clean engine that you'd expect anytime you drive a new car - the first thing I noticed was the space. At 6'1''and 250 lbs, space can be a concern. When I test drove the Sentra, I had know idea it was the 'entry' level model. In most cases, that means the cramped, compact and cheap offering of a car maker. Not with Nissan.

The interior cab space, backseat passenger space, and luggage space, is abundant. The 2015 Sentra offers 111-cubic feet of interior room - topping the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla.

MPG: If you're looking at a compact car, fuel efficiency is likely something you're concerned about, or at least conscious of. With a combined 33 MPG, the 2015 Sentra surpasses the Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla. It also has Eco and Sport push button options allowing you more control of gasoline usage.

Price: Here's the clincher. There is a perception that the South Korean and Japanese automakers provide the most affordable options if you're on a tight budget. Not so. The 2015 Sentra has an MSRP under the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla!

Still surprised?
