The TSA Pre-Check Enrollment RV in is Utica this week giving air travelers an opportunity to get what amounts to an E-Z Pass for the airport.

That's how AAA's Ed Welsh described the Known Traveler Pass on WIBX First News with Keeler in the Morning.

You provide the TSA with information about yourself, the TSA will conduct a screening on you to ensure you are not a risk, and if approved you'd be issued at Known Traveler Number, Welsh said. The process takes about 30 days, he said, and the pass would allow you to go through the airport TSA pre-check line and avoid long screening lines at the airport.

The enrollment RV is located at AAA's Utica office at 409 Court Street through Tuesday, August 7 (except weekends) from 9:00-noon and 1:00-5:00 each day.

To enroll you must bring a government issued photo ID and proof of citizenship. Welsh recommends bringing your driver's license and birth certificate, or passport, he said.

The cost is $85 and the pass is valid for five years.
