GREENPORT, N.Y. (AP) — State police are still chasing leads in the stabbing death of a 43-year-old Hudson Valley woman nearly 17 years ago.

Two duck hunters discovered the body of Jacqueline McCalop in September 2000 in a secluded area. The badly decomposed corpse was located on the east shore of the Hudson River in Greenport, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Albany, and was identified using fingerprints.

Police say she was murdered.

An autopsy showed that McCalop was stabbed several times in the torso. She was last seen by her daughter and reported missing a week later.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
