Several hundred people- many of them in uniforms- came out to remember those lost and injured during the Herkimer Shootings in March, while also taking time to thank first responders.

The Day of Reflection and Recognition Ceremony was led by Herkimer County Legislature Chairman Vincent Bono, and hosted by Herkimer County Community College.

Words of encouragement were offered for Dan Haslauer and John Seymour, who continue to recover from their injuries, while a moment of silence was held for Michael Ransear, Harry Montgomery Sr., Michael Renshaw and Thomas Stefka, who were killed on March 13th.

Bono says the city's support since the incident has been overwhelming.

"It's rewarding knowing that people care," Bono said. "People show compassion when they have to, they show caring and they lean on one another. That's what Herkimer County is about. It's great to see, it really is. It's uplifting."

Several lawmakers sent their regards, including Congressman Richard Hanna and Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
