Hunters Encouraged To Apply For Deer Permits

The Department of Environmental Conservation is reminding hunters to apply for Deer Management Permits this week - ahead of the October 1, deadline.

New York hunters can apply for up to two deer permits once they have a valid New York state hunting license.

DEC Commissioner Joe martens said Permits for the 2014-2015 hunting season have been available since the first week of August and hunters are encouraged to get their permit in advance of the October deadline.
