Ilion Man Facing Charges After Refusing To Pull Over For Seatbelt Check

An Ilion man is facing numerous charges after allegedly failing to pull over for a seatbelt enforcement check.

Ilion Police say 23-year old Nathan Travis refused to stop and led police on a chase over several streets.

They say upon reaching his home on Spring Street, Travis exited his vehicle and ran inside.  Following several phone calls and negotiations, Travis surrendered to police about an hour later.

Travis is facing charges including unlawful fleeing of a police officer.

Police say Travis was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, which was the only charge he would have received had he stopped at the road check.
