According to Ilion Mayor Beth Neale, the village of Ilion is currently in good shape financially despite what she says are rumors to the contrary.

At a State of the Village address Neale spoke to residents about the status of the village and several new projects in the works.

She says the main priority right now is re-paving the deteriorating Main Street, which will begin at the end of June in conjunction with Remington Arms annual summer shutdown.

She added that the Village Board and Mayor's office are looking into bringing garbage pickup operations back to Ilion instead of contracting through Sphon's Disposal, citing the success of Little Falls recently doing the same.
