Ilion Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud

An Ilion woman has been arrested for welfare fraud.

The Herkimer County Sheriff's Office say 27-year old Courtney Gallagher allegedly received over $2,000 in New York State Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits between January and April of this year that she was not entitled to receive.

Gallagher is also charged with grand larceny.

She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Herkimer Court.
