The Syracuse Orange pulled out their seventh straight win with a narrow 86-83 overtime victory over Wake Forest on Tuesday night at the Carrier Dome after a potential game-tying heave from beyond half court rimmed out as time expired.

It was another exciting end to a conference matchup for the Orange (14-4, 4-0 ACC), and another game that went down the wire. While 4-0 in ACC play, 'Cuse has won three of the four by a combined six points.

Senior center Rakeem Christmas had a monster night: 35 points, nine rebounds and many clutch free throws down the stretch. Trevor Cooney bolstered the Orange 'O' with 21 - including five 3-pointers - while Michael Gbinije added 17 and 11 boards, and some big buckets in key moments as well.

Tyler Roberson performed adequately in his new starting role, taking the spot of the injured Chris McCullough (torn ACL). The 6-foot-8 sophomore shot just 3-of-11 from the field but snatched ten rebounds, including four on the offensive end.

The Deamon Deacons got a breakout game from freshman Konstantinos Mitogolou, a 6-foot-10 forward from Greece who drained his first nine field goal attempts and finished with a career-high 26 points. He ended 10 of 13 from the field, after not having attempted more than seven shots in any one game this season. And, don't be mislead by thinking that this big man gets a lot of dunks and close looks in the paint; he spent most of the night on the perimeter and drilled four 3-pointers.

Codi Miller-McIntyre scored 24 for Wake Forest (9-9, 1-4 ACC) and ended the first half with shot from just inside half court to beat the buzzer and give his team a one point lead.

After the Deacons grew their lead to 50-41 in the opening minutes of the second half, Syracuse responded with an 8-0 run. From there, the final 15 minutes were tightly played back and forth.

The Orange will try to stay unbeaten in conference play when they visit Clemson on Saturday at 4:00.
