Some good news for Rome Lab.

Congressman Richard Hanna says the House has passed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2014, which increases funding for the Air Force Reseach Lab by $33 million.

He says the funding boost recognizes the important high-tech work being done in Rome.

Hanna says the bill also prohibits a Base Realignment and Closure process in 2014.

He says that’s especially important for the facilities located at the former Griffiss Air Force Base  — Rome Lab, the Eastern Air Defense Sector and the Rome DFAS site.
