In light of the Boston Marathon bombing, runners and spectators will see increased security at the Boilermaker.

President Tim Reed says first and foremost,  expect delays

He say you may encounter baggage check stations in locations you have not seen in the past.

Reed also says if you see something suspicious, say something.

About 80 law enforcement officers will be providing security, including members of the Utica, Rome and New Hartford Police Departments, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and State Police.

There will be a strong canine presence at this year's race and plainclothes police officers will be a part of the event.

The 36th running of the Boilermaker will take place on Sunday, July 14th.
