Utica, NY (WIBX) - A seven month old infant was left unattended for over 30 minutes while its mother shopped. According to the Utica Police Department, 22-year old Ashleigh Tedesco of New Hartford was in Price Chopper while the infant was left in a running car in the parking lot.

An officer issuing parking tickets to cars parked in the fire lane, happened upon the unattended baby. Officials say the child was turned over to family members and Child Protective Services is launching an investigation. Tedesco is charged with Endangering the Wellfare of a Child and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
