The flu is prevalent in New York, so says the state's health boss.

Health Commissioner Nirav Shah is requiring health care workers to get the flu shot or wear masks around patients.

Flu has been confirmed in 45 counties around the state so far this season.

There have been 19 confirmed cases of influenza reported in Oneida County.

Health Department officials say it's not too late to get a flu shot.

They say the flu vaccine is available through the Health Department's clinic sites in Utica and Rome.
