Inmate At Midstate Correctional Facility Arrested For Possessing Shank

An inmate at Midstate Correctional Facility in Marcy is facing more charges on top of the ones he’s already serving time for.
State Police say on February 8th, Alex Zapata, 20, was allegedly found with a shank-type weapon while being held as an inmate at the facility.
Zapata is charged with Promoting Prison Contraband and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, both felonies.
