Inmate Charged With Promoting Prison Contraband

Oriskany, NY (WIBX) - Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies have charged an inmate at the Oneida County jail with promoting prison contraband.

25-year old Shaun Andrews of Brooklyn was arrested for possessing a homemade "shank" he had fashioned from a toothbrush that had been sharpened at both ends.

The weapon was found by corrections staff during a search of Andrews' property during a housing unit change.

Andrews is being held at the jail on a felony assault charge.
