The investigation into the death of driver at a central New York racetrack is now complete.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says the district attorney is expected to release a report next week about the investigation into the death of Kevin Ward, Jr.

Ward, Jr. was killed at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park on Saturday, August 9, 2014 when he was hit by the car driven by NASCAR's Tony Stewart after Ward Jr. walked onto the active track at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park.

Original Story:

No charges had been filed after the initial investigation.

Following the accident Stewart sat out the next several races prior to returning to the track on August 31, 2014.  During that first race back Stewart crashed at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Stewart-Haas Racing team has not yet commented on the pending release of the report.
