It’s Free Snowmobiling Weekend In New York

This weekend is New York's annual Free Snowmobiling Weekend.

Today through Sunday, state registration fees will be waived for properly registered and insured out-of-state snowmobiles.

Town registration fees will also be waived this weekend for all in-state, out-of-state and Canadian snowmobilers.

"New York is home to unparalleled natural beauty and hosting this weekend’s Free Snowmobiling Weekend for out-of-state enthusiasts allows them to enjoy and explore all that our state has to offer free of charge," Governor Andrew Cuomo said. "Our tourism industry is booming from the Catskills to the Adirondacks to Western New York, and I encourage visitors to make the trip upstate this weekend to see for themselves why our incredible snowmobile trails are second to none."

New York state has 10,500 miles of trails.
