For more than eighty days Jack the Dog has been biding his time at the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.

Owner Natalie Beratta says they have received more than fifty-five thousand support signatures on their Change.org petition, and more than eight thousand Facebook "likes" on the "Help Save Jack" Facebook page.

Jack, a seven-year old sheltie, was the dog found guilty of biting Beratta's granddaughter, Gia, in March 2013.  The girl received stitches and Jack received a death sentence from Oneida County.  The owner - and her family which includes Gia's mom - are appealing and begging for Jack's life to be spared.

Natalie Beratta spoke with WIBX to give listeners this update:

We will update this story as soon as a hearing date is set for Jack (and Beratta).
