Another candidate has entered the race for Rome Mayor.

Newly endorsed Republican Party candidate Jacqueline Izzo announced her candidacy today. Izzo says she had many people from the business community approach her asking her to run.

She says receiving the endorsement of the Republican Party was important to her.

Izzo says good schools, safe streets, affordable housing , a strong health care system and economic development are some of her goals.

Republican Rob Tracy has also announced his intentions to run for Rome Mayor.  Mayor Joe Fusco has yet to officially announce his plans to run for re-election.
