Jamestown Woman Arrested For Bringing Heroin into Prison
A Jamestown woman has been arrested for allegedly bringing heroin into the Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome.
State Police were call to the facility for a possible Hazmat incident after an investigator from the Office of Special Investigations who had arrested the woman became lightheaded while processing a gray powdery substance.
He was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital for an evaluation and released.
The substance was later determined to be heroin.
47-year old Christine Robinson is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.
State Police were assisted by the Utica and Rome Fire Departments.
