Utica, NY (WIBX) - Acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Siegel is bringing his popular "Keyboard Conversations: Music for the Young, and the Young at Heart!" program to Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute.

Bob Mortis, Director of Performing Arts for MWPAI, says the world-renowned musician performs for groups across the U.S., re-introducing people to famous classical works.

"'Keyboard Conversations' is an event by Jeffrey Siegel that he wants to provide for our community because it's a very special introduction to music for young people, but it's also accessible to anyone who loves classical music," Mortis said.

This Sunday at 2 p.m., in the school's Museum of Art Auditorium, Siegel will entertain people of all ages with classical music selections from the likes of Mozart and Beethoven, among others.

Mortis says the show isn't just about the music, either.

"What he's going to do is feature familiar classical tunes that young people may already be familiar with through everyday life, but explain a little bit more about the history and the composers that brought them to us," Mortis said.

Tickets for the 45 minute concert are $8 each, and can be purchased at the MWPAI Performing Arts Ticket Office, by calling (315) 797-0055 or (800) 754-0797, and online.
